Can you calculate the area of a rectangle?

The area of a rectangle is calculated from the two different sides (a and b). It is the product of the two contiguous sides of the rectangle.

Area = a * b

This formula could also be obtained from the formula for the area of the parallelogram.

If the base of the rectangle is one of its sides (in this case b), the height relative to the base will be side a, and applying the previous formula we would obtain the area of the rectangle.
